Emergency Medical Care Committee (EMCC)
The purpose of the Emergency Medical Care Committee (EMCC) as specified in the California Health and Safety Code Section 1797.274 and 1797.276 is to review the operations of each of the following at least annually:
- Ambulance services operating within the county.
- Emergency medical care offered within the county, including programs for training large numbers of people in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and lifesaving first aid techniques.
- First aid practices in the county.
The EMCC shall convene to provide the Santa Clara County EMS Agency with its observations and recommendations relative to its review of the items above in addition to providing feedback related to the EMS System Strategic Plan, policy, education and training, quality improvement, public access, and EMS system operations.
The EMCC will also make recommendations related to the use of EMS Trust Fund for the funding of Category C: Stakeholder Projects consistent with Santa Clara County Prehospital Care Policy EMS Reference #812Trust Fund Guide and Application.
Recommendations made by the EMCC, in the form of meeting minutes, will be provided to the Health Advisory Commission by the Chair and will be published to the EMS Agency website, and available for public review.
Cardiac Care System Quality Improvement Committee
This is a multidisciplinary committee comprised of various system stakeholders. Major responsibilities include cardiac system performance review and providing recommendations to the EMS Agency.
Stroke Care System Quality Improvement Committee
This Committee is a multidisciplinary committee comprised of various system stakeholders. Major responsibilities include stroke system performance review and providing recommendations to the EMS Agency.
Prehospital Care System Quality Improvement Committee
This Committee is a multidisciplinary committee comprised of various system stakeholders. Major responsibilities include prehospital performance improvement review and providing recommendations to the EMS Agency.
Trauma Care System Quality Improvement Committee
This Committee is a multidisciplinary committee comprised of various system stakeholders. Major responsibilities include trauma system performance review and providing recommendations to the EMS Agency.
Emergency Medical Dispatch Quality Improvement Committee
This Committee serves as a clinical care advisory body to the EMS Medical Director in regard to clinical care that is offered through the Medical Priority Dispatch System (MPDS).
EMS Command and Control Quality Improvement Committee
Designed for EMS field managers and supervisors. This quality improvement review addresses the operational aspects of EMS response including incident review, planning for events, WMD/disaster medical services, and provider agency operational reports. Open to the Santa Clara County System providers only.
